The content of this website
was developed by nationally recognized experts on Alzheimer’s disease and
care giving: Patricia Flynn Weitzman, Ph.D., of Harvard Medical School; Ramon
Valle, Ph.D., of San Diego State University, and Sue E. Levkoff, Sc.D., of Harvard
Medical School. Dr. Patricia Weitzman is an NIH-funded researcher whose expertise
is in minority health, with a focus on the patient-doctor interactions of minority
elders. Dr. Levkoff was the director of the National Institute on Aging funded
Harvard Center for Minority Aging and Health Promotion for Alzheimer Disease and
was a board member for Massachusetts Chapter for the Alzheimer’s Association.
Dr. Valle has been a three-term board member of the National Alzheimer’s
Association, and served two terms on the board of its San Diego chapter. He has
a two-decade involvement in cross-cultural Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
related research and publications. Funding for the website was through a grant
from the National Institutes of Health to Environment & Health Group, Inc.,
of Watertown, MA, a health services research and development company. World Education,
Inc., of Boston, MA conducted educational evaluation of the website. INVIVIA Inc,
a Cambridge, MA based digital design firm (http://www.invivia.com),
