List of drugs that can be harmful if they are mixed with alcohol


• Antihistamines (for colds and allergies): BENADRYL, CLARITIN
• Over-the-counter pain medication: TYLENOL
• Prescription pain medication: PERCOCET, DEMEROL, VICODI
• NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs): ADVIL, ALEVE
• Bronchodilators (for asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema): PROVENTIL, PRIMATENE MIST
• Beta blockers (for lowering blood pressure): LOPRESSOR, INDERAL
• Nitrates (for lowering blood pressure): NITROGLYCERIN
• Statins (for lowering cholesterol): LIPITOR, ZOCOR
• MAO inhibitors (for treating depression and anxiety): NARDIL, PARNATE
• Anti-anxiety drugs: ATIVAN, XANAX, VALIUM
• Histamine blockers (for acid reflux and heartburn): TAGAMET, PEPCID, ZANTAC
