Symptoms of Depression
People with depression feel some or all of the following symptoms all day, nearly every day for two weeks or more:
- A persistent feeling of sadness
- Loss of interest in things that once brought enjoyment
- Feeling hopeless or worthless
- Feeling tired all of the time
- Inability to sleep or sleeping too much
- Loss of energy
- Loss of motivation
- Loss of appetite and weight loss
- Increased appetite and weight gain
- Trouble thinking, concentrating, and making decisions
- Restlessness and irritability
- Thoughts of death and suicide
