More than Grief
Grief is a normal response to the loss of a loved one, but sometimes grief leads to other problems. When that happens, a person may not be able to work through the sadness on his or her own. If you have any of the following concerns, talk with your doctor. He or she can help you begin to feel better again.
Call your doctor this week if you feel very anxious, guilty, or angry, or if you:
• Haven't been able to return to work because you don't feel that you can cope.
• Have trouble sleeping or eating.
• Are in pain.
Click here to visit PARC's information on depression if:
• Your feelings of sadness continue for more than two months and do not improve.
• You have no interest in things you were once interested in, and
• You think you may be depressed.
Talk to someone right away if you:
• Are drinking more alcohol than you used to.
• Feel like your life doesn't matter.
• Don't want to live anymore.
No one should have to face these problems alone. Help is waiting for you. Call your doctor, your clergy, or a counselor.
