What Is a Journal?
A journal is a place to record your thoughts and dreams. It's also a way to keep track of what happened in your day and a way to express your feelings.
If you prefer paper and pen, you can use a simple blank notebook for your journal. You also can type your thoughts using your computer or typewriter. The important thing is that you have a place to write down your feelings in a safe and private way.
You may not have kept a journal since you were in school, but journal writing isn't just kid stuff! President John Adams, inventor and statesman Benjamin Franklin, actress Ingrid Bergman, explorer Christopher Columbus, and Queen Victoria all kept journals.
Your world is as important and interesting—and as full of discoveries—as these historical figures. Start a log of the events that matter in your life today!
