Other Uses for Your Journal
Your journal is a wonderful place to record your thoughts and memories. It also can be a practical spot to keep information that you don't want to forget. Here are some examples:
A Food Log
• If you have diabetes and you need to keep track of what you eat, use a journal that is set up like a calendar appointment book. Write down what you eat every day.
A Medicine Log
• Use a calendar-style journal to keep track of the medicines that you take. If you're taking a new drug, you may want to write down how you feel after you've taken it. Does it make you feel better? Does it upset your stomach?
A Jog Log
• Keep an exercise journal. How far did you walk today? Where did you ride your bike?
A Log to Jog Your Memory
Write down details that you tend to forget. For instance:
• Birthdays
• Directions
• The name of a friend's favorite flower or restaurant
• A grandchild's favorite toy
• Names of people you have met
